Here I am not going to give a Buddhist teaching; what I am going to express is a universal message, something which is common to everyone."
    – His Holiness the Dalai Lama"

Introduced by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Rev. Edward F. Carpenter, His Holiness shares a universal message grounded in our shared humanity. True happiness, he reminds us, cannot come from external means alone. We therefore have no alternative but to train our minds. The key to mental well-being is the development of wisdom and the kindness of a good heart. Whereas anger and violence will only ever have a negative effect, a good heart leads to individual and world peace.
